Wakeboards: Amp Up Your Day on the Lake!

With his boat all ready positioned on a still lake, wakeboards  leaning against the boat’s edge and the summer sun beating down on the back of his neck, Reggie secured the tow rope in preparation for an exciting day of water sports with his friends.

The three friends had been practicing water sports together for several months, and they always had a blast wake boarding, knee boarding and just being out on the water. Janine loved to kneeboard, but, for the guys, wake boarding was the water sport of choice. They were fairly accomplished at wake boarding, and they loved to show off their tricks.

“Is that a new tow rope?” Janine asked.

“Yeah, Reggie affirmed. “I just bought it last week online. I got a new wake board too, did you see?”

“Oh, get out!” Janine shrieked. “I just bought my kneeboard online!”

“I call first dibs,” Dennis interjected as he picked up his wakeboard.

Dennis bobbed in the water as he waited anxiously for the rope to be pulled taut. He slid his wake board between himself and the boat, and then—in one fluid movement—he was up and wakeboarding.

Reggie was piloting the boat, and he accelerated quickly. Janine looked on with admiration as Dennis executed trick after trick on his wake board—he was the more talented wake boarder of the two boys, but Reggie was no amateur when it came to water sports.

While Dennis was wakeboarding, the calmness of the lake had been interrupted by other groups of people also engaged in water sports, some waterskiing, others lazily being pulled along in towables or boat tubes and a few other wakeboarders as well.

Dennis finally consented to allow Janine a turn on the tow rope, and as she was positioning herself on her kneeboard, he leaned his board against the side of the boat and then turned to Reggie—who was still driving the boat—and asked, “Did you two say you bought your new water sports gear online?”

“Yeah!” Reggie hollered back over his shoulder. “It was cheap, easy and fast. I buy all my water sports stuff online. You should check it out!”

“But what about identity theft, aren’t you worried about that?” Dennis inquired.

“Oh, man! Welcome to the twenty-first century, Denny!” Reggie howled through a smirk. “Online merchants have security measures in place to protect you from all that. If you’re still driving to a store and dealing with the hassle of salespeople and other customers to get wake boarding equipment, you’re just wasting time you could be spending on water sports!”

Dennis looked thoughtful. “Well, I do need some new wakeboard bindings. Will you show me what website you’ve been using?”

“Yeah, no doubt!” Reggie shouted his agreement.

“YEEEOOOW!” the guys heard Janine scream as she performed a perfect a jump on her knee board.

“Good one, Nini!” Reggie yelled. Then, he looked at Dennis and anxiously asked, “Now will you get up here and drive this boat, so I can break in my new wakeboard?”
