I'm feeling a bit guilty- But not as guilty as some other boaters

I had a oil leak in my boat's engine last May, and of course the only way I noticed, was that the bilge pump was spitting the oil out into Georgia Strait here in BC. Yikes!

I have to admit I do feel a bit guilty, BUT the main thing is.... I did some thing about it and went and got it fixed! In other words, there are people out there that pollute our oceans everyday, and don't care one bit! They tell themselves.....at least the engine is still running!

I am trying to promote Marine Conservation to boat owners and here I am contributing to the wrong!

I hope your not saying, Steve how can you sit  there and preach Marine Conservation, while at the same time you're using a gas filled boat that pollutes our waters?

Well.. my answer to you is....Greenpeace has a speed boat too!

Listen, I love the ocean and lakes too, but the truth is, I like to have fun in life. And when I say FUN, I mean getting out on the water!

Plus when you have a backyard like British Columbia, there's never water far away!
 
Let's just make sure we're smart about things when we're out on the water!

Just to conclude, I'm hoping you to take this little lesson about oil leaks back to your boat so the water in your area will be cleaner for the future!
